Exclusive: Interactive indoor golf simulator to open in Empire Outlets

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — FlyingTee — an interactive entertainment brand — will open its first New York City-based TEE SUITE at Empire Outlets, the Advance has learned.

The 22,000-square-foot TEE SUITE promises to provide a unique, interactive experience in a lounge setting while allowing guests of all ages and skill levels to enjoy an easy-to-play version of golf and games indoors.

The TEE SUITE, powered by FLITE, provides tracking for serious golfers and the ability to virtually play championship courses, including Pebble Beach in Pebble Beach, Calif., and Saint Andrews in Westchester, N.Y.

The facility will also include games such as darts and blackjack.

Empire Outlets will open on May 15.

“The entertainment experience we have created, over the past three years, coupled with the modern ultra-lounge bar and dining service, is unmatched in the golf and active entertainment world,” said John Vollbrecht, CEO and co-founder of FlyingTee.

“We look forward to bringing our state-of-the-art experience to the 8.3 million people living in New York City along with the 52 million visitors to the Big Apple each year.”

The entertainment site will also serve as a one-of-a-kind viewing opportunity for sports, concerts and other major events. The venue will be accentuated by panoramic views of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty.

“The TEE SUITE is an exciting evolution of the traditional golf concept,” said Joseph Ferrara, principal of BFC Partners, developer of Empire Outlets. “The creative attitude and customer dedication we see within the TEE SUITE and FlyingTee team makes it a great fit for Empire Outlets, and we are proud to be home to their flagship New York City location.”

“At Empire Outlets, we say it’s all about the experience. TEE SUITE will bring a one-of-a-kind world class food and beverage and golfing entertainment venue to New York City’s waterfront,” said James Prendamano, CEO of Casandra Properties Inc, leasing broker of Empire Outlets, who brokered the deal with Brian McGowan, associate broker.

Located adjacent to the St. George ferry terminal, Empire Outlets will also feature over 100 designer outlet retailers and a 1,250-space parking garage.

OTHER RETAILERS

Major retailers coming to the center include: Nordstrom Rack, Nike,H&M, Levi’sTrue Religion, Cotton OnConverse, Jockey, Starbucks, U.S. Polo, Crocs, American Eagle Outfitters, Banana Republic, Brooks BrothersBroom & GreeneColumbia Sporting Goods, Nike Factory, and True Religion. Eateries slated to open in Empire Outlets’ include Shake Shack, Starbucks, Mamoun’s Falafel and MRKTPL, Staten Island’s first-ever artisanal food hall.

The vast majority of Empire Outlets’ retail and restaurant spaces are already leased and BFC Partners is in discussions with several tenants for the balance of the center, a spokesman said.
